Jim was in our class of 1958 at Cresson Joint High, and was always a nice person.

I know he'll be more peaceful then at any time, in this life of us all.

Best thoughts to Jim's Family.

My biggest memory of Jim, was as a football player in HS -- he was good, really good!

Very sorry to read about Jim's death. We were neighbors on Liberty Ave in Cresson and we spoke often. There was not a better neighbor or a finer gentleman than Jim Eckenrode. My condolences to his family. I am sure Jim will be sorely missed.

Another great man has gone home to be with the Lord as will be remembered & missed by many Loretto residents. I have many great memories of him and his wonderful family. First met him during my little league baseball days as he coached us to a Loretto Championship in the Gallitzin Little League Assn. Years later I had the pleasure of being a team-mate of his for the Loretto Astro's Men's Championship Team. Can still recall the stinging within my hand when he sent a ball across the diamond from third base as I played first. I then worked for him many years later at Warner Laboratories in Cresson. I always knew him to be a very fine man who I'm sure will be missed by many. My condolences and prayers are with the family during this very tough time. RIP old friend!

Sam, Chuckie S, and I just loved Jim! We would always see him around town and will miss him.
He was our watcher for the neighborhood and always called if he would see something suspicious or someone.
We all felt safer having Jim living so near to us on Liberty Avenue.
I myself, Denise, really looked up to him and though he wasn't well, he was always smiling and he even said if we ever needed him to call.
Very strong and wonderful person.
God bless the family and all who had the chance of knowing him!
Love,
Sam, Denise & Chuckie Runzo
