Dennis Fontanella 63, R. D. Dysart, died June 22, 2016 peacefully at home. Born July 24, 1952 in Altoona, son of the late Mario “Skuck” and Esther (Rossa) Fontanella. Preceded in death by brother, Raymond and his wife the former Rose Ivory. Survived by wife, the former Jinny Basal whom he married January 8, 1972 in Ashville. Daughters: Cherie Chesney (David) of Lexington, NC and Nicole Fontanella (Richard Weakland) of Hastings. Grandchildren: D.J., Lauren, and Ruby. Brother of: John (Patty Dietrich) of Dysart, Betty Hanlon (John) of Ashville and Randy (Diane Garman) of New Cumberland. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Denny was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era War. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, gardening, nature, and building bird houses. He worked as a carpenter for many years. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
