William Ronald "Bill" Lenz Sr.

William Ronald “Bill” Lenz Sr. 83, of Cresson, passed away March 28, 2023, at home. Born March 30, 1939 in Loretto, son of the late Elmer and Marie (Conrad) Lenz. Preceded in death by daughter, Heather, brother Robert (Dolores) Lenz, sister LaVerne (Cletus) Smith, and nephew James Lenz. Survived by longtime special companion Kathy Washic; and his children: Mellany (Mike) Armstrong of Havertown, PA; Tammy (Tom) Maurer of Idleyld Park, OR; William (Anne) Lenz Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; Charles (Angela) Lenz of Cresson, PA. and stepson Rex Strayer. Also survived by his grandchildren Reed and Drew Armstrong; Kimberly (John) May and their sons Rowan and August; Elisa (Thomas) Bailey and their daughter Chloe; Jonathan (Kaitlin) Maurer and their daughter Marah; Jacob Maurer and his girlfriend Cristi Salgado; Chad and Connor Lenz; Ashley Dollar and her children Lily and Liam; and Christopher Lenz. Bill worked for many years as a sawyer at C&C Smith Lumber Company in Summerhill, PA. He enjoyed bowling, shooting trap, hunting, especially crows, and fishing. He taught his children to love the outdoors. Bill was a member of the Cresson Community Sportsman’s Association, Bald Eagle Sportsmen Club and Holiday Bowl.
