William J. Kovel, 82, of Irvona, died March 28, 2025, at home. He was born December 16, 1942, in McKeesport, son of the late Nicholas and Susan (Seko) Kovel. Preceded in death by first wife, the former Patricia Ann Nagy, and infant son, Nicholas. Survived by wife, the former Joann Wagner, whom he married September 2, 2017 in Irvona, sons: William (Robin Szelc) Kovel and Kris Kovel and fiancé (Karyn Davis), stepdaughter Mandee (Kevin) Hollis, grandchildren: Ashley (Donny) Fisher, Brenden (Sabrina) Kovel, Katie (Tyler) Queen, and Rosalie Hollis, 2 great grandchildren: Braxton Kovel and James Fisher, and one to be born soon. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bill was an avid hunter, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed music, model trains and was a gentleman farmer. Bill started working for his father’s construction company as a teenager. For many years he owned and operated his own auto body repair shop. He retired from Baum Blvd. Dodge in 2005. He was a member of the Madera Moose, and Lakewood Country Club, in Lakewood, NY. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday and from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA 16627, Pastor Dawn Davis officiating.
