Wanda K. Kanouff, 67, of Rosebud, died June 23, 2024, at UPMC Altoona surrounded by family. Born December 9, 1956, in Bellefonte, daughter of the late Ward and Mary (Lehman) Hockenberry. Survived by husband of 50 years, Alan whom she married June 22, 1974 in Renova, her loving children: Jennifer (John) Peachey, Paul (Mandy) Kanouff, Alan (Melody) Kanouff, and Karissa (Derek) Salatino, her inspiring grandchildren: Madelynn Kanouff, Aidan Kanouff, Ella Kanouff, Gaige Peachey, Adam Kanouff, Marissa Kanouff, Bailey Salatino, and Isaac Kanouff, siblings: Don, Ken, Debbie, Doug (Kelly), Tim, James, Jenny (Denny) Miller, and Ward, the best siblings-in-law: Eva (Jim) Galie, Charles (Sharon), Gerald (Gwen), and Mark (Mary). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Wanda was the most loving wife and mother. She loved her family more than life itself. She had a long, and tumultuous battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer and COPD, and never complained. She fought hard for her family and had a hard determination that surprised many doctors and some of the best at Cleveland Clinic. Wanda adored her children and grandchildren. She was always their biggest cheerleader. She attended dance recitals, sporting events, graduations, baptisms, and every major event in each one of their lives. Although she was not a hunter, she always rooted for the men in the family to score the biggest buck and would genuinely cheer when they did. Her favorite place was the beach, especially Ocean City Maryland which she frequented almost yearly. She lived her life to the fullest and took advantage of every opportunity life handed her. She was an avid book reader, the best chef and baker in the family, she loved to shop, treasured coffee, and adored going to see Christmas lights every season. Her favorite gift to be given were flowers, and she loved tending to rose bushes every year. She and Alan would spend lovely summer evenings on their front porch watching the hummingbirds come to feed. These are the moments that will forever be cherished and remind us of her and her love. Wanda held on to specifically to celebrate her wedding anniversary. That shows the dedication she had to her loving husband, and the best father to her children. She always put everyone else first and always wanted the best for everyone. She will be missed by many and never be forgotten. Friends will be received from 2 until 4 PM Sunday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA 16627. The family would like to pay a special thank you to the community and extended family for their continued support and outpouring of love for Wanda. Numerous fundraisers were held in her honor and the family appreciates it all so very much. The family would also like to thank the staff at UPMC Altoona and Penn Highlands Clearfield for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Funeral Home for expenses. Thank you all for your continued support and love for our family. www.gibbonsfhashvillecoalport.com
