Walter A. Becker, 89, R.D. Dysart, died April 26, 2021 at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born May 31, 1931 in St. Bonifice, son of the late Charles and Cecelia (Kruis) Becker. Preceded in death by wife, the former Vera Krug on September 11, 2004, daughter in law, Sharon (Carl) Becker, brothers; Clarence, Paul and William, and sisters; Mary Callahan and Hilda Dietrick. Survived by children; Walter (Nancy Snyder), Mary (Phil) Davis, Ken (Diane O’Connell), Joe (Doreen Henninger), Dot (Jeff) Storm, Ronald (Rhoda (Ake) Garlick), Dennis (Ellen Jones), Bob (Yolonda), Melvin (Jayme Murdock), Perry (Manuela Ahrens) and Tom, 26 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, brother, Ralph, sister in law, Ada (Cretin) Becker, friend, Donna Salley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Walt enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. He retired in 1985 from Bethlehem Steel Mills, Johnstown. A member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, Rev. Jerzy Auguscik OFM, Celebrant. Committal, St. Monica Cemetery. A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family due to COVID concerns. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Walt’s memory.
