Thomas N. Spangle, 80, of Coalport, died August 1, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 18, 1943, in Coalport, son of the late Norman and Geraldine (Peacock) Spangle. Preceded in death by sister, Janet Fleming. Survived by wife of almost 62 years, the former Bonnie Bloom, whom he married November 11, 1961 in Winchester, VA, children: Pamela Cowher (Donny Stout) of Philipsburg, Christie (Dick) Youngkin, Michael, Scott (Dana Troxell) all of Coalport, grandchildren: Sara (Chris) McCully, Scott (Paige Noel) Spangle, Casandra Spangle (companion, Brock), Todd Spangle, Travis Youngkin, Kelsey (Jaime) Laing, and Britton Spangle, 6 great grandchildren: Myla McCully, Ivy Laing, Noah Spangle, Cameron Spangle, Tate Laing, and Liam Imperoili, niece Janet Lynn (Mark) Caldwell, and nephew, Brad Fleming. Tom was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Tom had worked for Benjamin Coal Company for a number of years. He later worked as a correction officer at Rockview Penitentiary, State College and retired from SCI Houtzdale in 2005. He was a trustee and member of the Coalport First United Methodist Church.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday September 9, 2023, at the Coalport United Methodist Church.
