Thomas James Clossin Jr., 78, of Ashville, died March 23, 2022 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. Born April 24, 1943 in Gallitzin, son of the late, Thomas J. Sr. and Rose (Kochera) Clossin. Preceded in death by sisters; Mary Katherine (Bob) McMullen, and Kathleen Clossin. Survived by wife of 55 years, the former Judy Simendinger, whom he married June 3, 1967 in Coupon, children; Andrea L. Clossin, Raymond F. Clossin, Sandee (Bob) Salimbene, and Stephanie (Tom) Skebeck, 3 grandchildren; Ian Lafferty, and Thomas and Addyln Skebeck, siblings; Patricia Racz, Shirley Piper, James(Sarah) Clossin, Barbara Noel, Constance Clossin and Louise Clossin. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Tom honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in Houtzdale. Dad loved spending every moment he could with his grandchildren and making walking trails on the property. He was well known for his humor and would do anything to get a laugh. Tom was an avid collector of model trains and PRR memorabilia, and his passion was building his model train layout. Friends will be received from 6 until 8 PM Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where Military Rites will be conducted following the viewing hours by the Ashville VFW and other Local Military Organizations. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton by Benedictine Fathers. Committal will be at St. Monica Cemetery, Chest Springs.
