Thomas R. Burgoon

Thomas R. Burgoon, 79, Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Ashville, died March 17, 2021 at Virginia Beach General Hospital. Born November 19, 1941 in Ashville, son of the late Ross Jr. and Leona (Lamont) Burgoon. Preceded in death by infant twin sisters, Mary and Jane, and sister Bonnie Salony. Survived by sons; John and Tom Jr. (Pam), grandchildren, Haley and Ryan, brothers, Gerald “Hop” and Ronald “Doc”, brother in law, Emil Salony, several nieces and nephews and his dog Zeus. Tom retired from the US Navy in 1985 after 27 years of service, and served during the Vietnam War. He then worked for the US Postal Service for 18 years. Life member of the Ashville VFW and member of the Loretto American Legion and Windfall Lodge in Potter County. Friends will be received from 5 until 8 PM Friday March 26, 2021 at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Thomas Cemetery, Ashville. Military Rites in charge of Ashville VFW, Loretto American Legion, and other local Military Organizations.
