Theodore “Ted” Yahner, 71, Loretto, died March 28, 2021 at UPMC Altoona. Born April 19, 1949 in Spangler, son of the late Charles “Chick” and Anna Mary “Puttsie” (Hoover) Yahner. Preceded in death by first wife, the former June Sottile and brother, Clifford. Survived by wife, the former Lorraine Kaehl, whom he married February 3, 1995 in Hollidaysburg, son, Mark and these brothers and sisters; Charlotte (John) Santoro, Virginia “Ginny” (Larry) North, Mary Carolyn “Punken” (John) Adams, Margie (Dale) McConnell, Mark, and Pat (Marsha Baumgardner), sister in law, Bridget Yahner, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ted was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Medal of Valor. He enjoyed gunsmithing, woodworking in general, golfing and hunting. He had worked as a machinist for F L Smith, North American Communications, 21st Century Envelope and he retired from Commercial Envelope. Member of the Loretto American Legion and Ashville VFW. Friends will be received from 4 until time of Prayer Service at 7 PM Wednesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, Brother Gabe, officiating. Military Rites in charge of Loretto American Legion, Ashville VFW and other Local Military Organizations.
