Terry Swasing, 77, of Rosebud, died Monday, December 9, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family and his therapy dog. He was born June 7, 1947, in Rosebud, son of the late George and Ruth (Fegan) Swasing. Preceded in death by brothers: George,”Tudge”, Don and Gary. Survived by his wife, the former Kathy Slovick, whom he married June 21, 1969 in Patton, children: Lorie (Kenny) Rowles, and Scott (Jessica) Swasing, three granddaughters: Brooke, Brynley, and Kallie, his sister, Sandra Jean Wills and numerous nieces and nephews. Terry graduated from Glendale High School in 1966. He then worked at Barnes and Tucker Mine #20 on the long wall until it closed, he then went to work at TYK Refactories in Irvona. He was an active member of the Irvona Fire Company as a firefighter and ambulance driver. He was also a member of Coalport VFW and Coalport Moose. Terry’s favorite pastime was spending time with his granddaughters Brooke, Brynley, and Kallie. He loved listening to their stories and watch them ride their 4 wheelers. At Terry’s request there will be no viewing. A private committal service with his family will be held at Utahville Cemetery at a later date.
