Shirley Garman, 88, Ashville, died August 9, 2021 at UPMC Altoona. Born July 7, 1933 in Dean Twp., daughter of the late Eugene L. and Evelyn (Holmberg) Eyer. Preceded in death by infant great grandson, Eugene Joseph Erlinger, infant brother, James, and brother, T. Gene “Pete”. Survived by husband of 65 years, Don Garman whom she married April 14, 1956 in Ashville, Children; Donna (James) Erlinger, Dwayne “Butch” (Rochele Finklestine), and Diane (Randy) Fontanella, 7 grandchildren; James (Tara) Erlinger, Michael (Rebekah) Erlinger, Christina (Michael) Racz, Dwayne Garman Jr., Dustien Garman, Amanda Fontanella and Gina Fontanella, 5 great grandchildren; Harlie, Joseph, Amelia, Thomas, and Braylee, sisters and brothers; Dorothy Gooderham, Verna (Norman) Storm, Robert (Bev Myers) and William, sister in law, Arlene (LaRue) Eyer, and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family. A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family. Member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Thomas Cemetery, Ashville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Ashville Volunteer Fire Company in Shirley’s memory.
