Ruth E. Mock, 99, formerly of R.D. Ashville, died June 15, 2021. Born November 23, 1921 in Chest Springs, daughter of the late Andrew J. and Hilda C. (Shoemaker) Trexler. Preceded in husband, Levi on October 17, 1999, grandchildren; Valerie Mock, and Lori Mock, great grandson, Bailey Lloyd, brothers; Warren, Blair, and William, and sister Iva Buck. Survived by children; Anna Marie (Larry) Hamilton, North Olmstead, OH, William (Christine Illiano) of Painsville, OH, Mary Lou (George “Curt”) Krug of Ashville, John (Beth Vesco) of Stockton, CA, Rick (Michelle Kenner) of Ashville, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was the last member of her immediate family. She enjoyed reciting the rosary, playing bingo and cards, and making quilts. She had worked in the cafeteria at Torvian Hall at St. Francis College for several years and retired from housekeeping at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Altoona in 1986 after 15 years of service. A member of Prince Gallitzin Senior Citizens, Chest Springs, and Cresson Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville where she had helped with funeral luncheons and cleaning the church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Monica Cemetery, Chest Springs. Friends will be received from 5 until 8 PM Wednesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613 where a Vigil Service will be held Wednesday.
