Ronald B. Ramsey, 75, Loretto, died February 5, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born March 23, 1946 in Spangler, son of the late Bernard T. Ramsey and Helen Bertram Ramsey Benny. Preceded in death by step father, Arthur Benny, brothers; Richard Ramsey and Gary Ramsey, and step brother, Gary Benny. Survived by wife, the former Denise “Sis” Sharp whom he married October 24, 1998 in Cresson, daughter by affection, Allison L. Carns, children; John (Kathy) Ramsey, Lisa Eger, and Julie Ramsey (John), 4 grandchildren; John Cole, Nicole, Lexie, and Chelsea, 2 great grandchildren; Jillian and Isabella, sisters; Pauline “Lou” (Dave) Kline, Sandra (Todd) Davis, and Gail (Dave) Conrad, sisters in law; Loretta Ramsey and Linda Benny, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Carl and Maggie Kibler. Ron was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served on the USS Essex (CVS-9). He enjoyed working on his little farm along with his wife raising horses and goats. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked at Barnes and Tucker Mines 20 and 24D, and he retired from the Tacoma Mine in Marion Center. He later retired after 14 years as a truck and tractor trailer driver. Life member of the Loretto American Legion where he was a past Post Commander and he also was a life member of St. Benedict VFW. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
