Robert R. Grove, 84, Ebensburg, died March 26, 2021 at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born September 26, 1936 in Ashville, son of the late Joseph Ralph and Ellen (Grimes) Grove. Preceded in death by brothers; Joseph, Tom, George, David, and Gerald “Sonny”, sisters; Dorothy Schenk, Geraldine Grove, Marian Hershel, Edna Lavick, Florence Boes and Adelaide Beldin. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Anita Toffy, whom he married April 15, 1967 in Coupon, son, James of Florida and daughter, Katya Vallon of Pennsylvania, brothers and sisters; Agnes (Mike) Lidwell, Rose Karabinos, Eleanor Hinzman, Edward (Patty), and Daniel (Janet), sisters in law; Leah Rae Grove and Tracy Grove, brother-in- law, James Boes, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was an Army Veteran. He had worked for the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC for 11 years and retired in 1997 after 25 years of service as a security guard at St. Francis College, Loretto. Bob enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting coyotes. Life member of the NRA, and member of Loretto American Legion, Fraternal Order of Police and Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM Tuesday, Rev. Brian Warchola, Celebrant. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. Friends will be received from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613.
