Robert H. Doughty

Robert H. Doughty, 75, Altoona, died April 28, 2022 at Guardian Healthcare, Altoona. Born April 6, 1947 in Ashville, son of the late Kimmo and Elaine (Grimes) Doughty. Preceded in death by daughter in law, Wendy (Hasen) Doughty, son in law, Kenneth Lefort, and brothers, Charles, and William. Survived by wife of 51 years, the former Linda Karnes, whom he married October 3, 1970 in Rimersburg, PA, son Randy Scott, daughter, Kimberly Lynn, grandchildren; Kenneth, Brittany and Allison Lefort, brothers and sisters; Joseph (Mary Ann), Rita Knee (Jim Shank), Betty (Buck) Eckenrode, Thomas (Mary Ann), Leo (Shirl), Barbara (Joe) Delozier, Paul (Missy), and Dennis. sisters in law; Flo, Maxine, and Roxann. Also survived by an aunt, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He enjoyed playing softball, golf, reading and watching television. He had worked for Conrail and Norfolk Southern Railroad at the Juniata Shops for over 30 years and for Skills of Central Pennsylvania for over 20 years. Bob was a member of the American Legion. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing or services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer Association in Bob’s memory.
