Richard B. Swauger, 67, of Utahville, passed away on June 8, 2023, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 9, 1956, in Altoona, son of the late Thomas “Lynn” and Mary “Louise” (Tutko) Swauger. Preceded in death by brother, Dennis. Survived by wife of 42 years, the former Pam Gearhart, whom he married January 28, 1981. Sons: Bruce “Rick” (Nicole) of Harrisonburg, VA, and Christopher (Jenell) of Smithsburg, MD, daughters: Katie (Elam) Gates of Pittsburgh and Nichole (Todd) Barquist of Coalport, grandsons: Sage, Rex, and Jackson, and granddaughter Hannah, sisters: Janet (Andy) Manges, and Amy (Steve) Smolko, and brother Kevin, all of Coalport, sister-in-law Ginny of Rosebud, along with numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Rick loved music, both playing and listening, gardening, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his time was most cherished when he spent with his grandchildren, and his family and friends. Rick served 20 years in the United States Army and Army National Guard (Ret) and worked 28 years at TYK Refactories. Friends and family will be received on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 11:00 AM until time of memorial service at 1:00 PM at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA 16627.
