Richard Biter Sr., 64, Ebensburg, died March 3, 2023. Born October 22, 1958 in Spangler, son of the late Lawrence and Eleanor (Sherry) Biter. Preceded in death by sisters: Elizabeth George and Jean Bruce, and brother, David. Survived by wife of 43 years, the former Wendy Byrne, whom he married November 17, 1979 in Loretto, children: Richard Jr. (Deborah Noll), Chris (Virginia Yauneridge), Victoria (David) Knobloch, Kenny (Courtney Wirick), Melissa (Gregory) Shaffer, and Michelle (Eric) Griffith, 19 grandchildren, and one on the way, sisters: Rita Farabaugh, Donna Koller, Theresa (Francis) Solarczyk, and Bonnie Hershel, brother-in-law, Richard George and sister-in-law Elaine Biter. Rick enjoyed spending time with his family, motorcycle riding, camping, hunting and country line dancing. He had worked for 34 years at the Ebensburg Center. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Rev. Brian Warchola, Celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday.
