Rev. Donald E. Boslett, 91, of Scranton, formerly of Chest Springs and St. John Paul II Manor, Cresson, died January 19, 2025, at Marywood Heights, Scranton. He was born July 31, 1933, in Spangler, son of the late Russell and Viola (Dunlap) Boslett He is survived by his sister, Sr. Anne Mary Boslett IHM of Scranton. Father Boslett was ordained a Catholic priest on May 30, 1959, at Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, Ohio, where he earned a BA Degree. He enjoyed golfing and swimming. His assignments included: St. Leo’s, Altoona, St. Mary’s, Nanty Glo, St. Therese’s, Altoona, St. Joseph’s, Williamsburg, St. Thomas, Ashville, St. Joseph, Portage, St. Mary’s, Altoona, and St. Joseph, Renova. He taught at Bishop Carroll and Bishop Guilfoyle High School from 1960 until 1972. Father was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Knights of St. George, Rotary Club, and was president of Josephinum Alumni from 1995 until 2005 where he served on the board of trustees from 1996 until 2005. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until time of funeral Mass at noon on Friday at St. Monica’s Catholic Church, Chest Springs, Rev. Leonard Voytek, main celebrant along with other diocesan priests concelebrating. Committal, St. Benedict Cemetery, Carrolltown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509, in Father’s memory.
