Raymond F. “Goob” Freidhof Jr., 90, of Munster, died July 5, 2023, at Just Like Home Personal Care, Cresson. Born January 19, 1933, in Munster, son of the late Raymond Sr. and Margaret (Shaw) Freidhof. Preceded in death by wife, the former Rosemary “Boola” Ahles on December 29, 2022, brothers: Henry, Thomas, Paul “Kutch”, and George “Worm” and sisters: Margaret “Peg” Gailey, and Ethel “Tillie” Gressick. Survived by children: Lenny (Tina Foulds) of Mechanicsburg, Jeff (Vicki Adams) of Munster, Bob (Linda Little) of Munster, and Karen (Jan) Vinglas of Cresson, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sisters: Hazel Wirfel, twins, Janet (John) Knapp and Jane Kiel, Mary Catherine (Larry) Springer and Dorothy (Regis) Lee, sisters and brother-in-law: Jane Freidhof, Jim Gailey, Margaret Freidhof and Ann Freidhof. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening, and working. Goob worked for Knopp and Klatt Construction as a machine operator and retired in 1995, he was also a Supervisor for Munster Twp. for 36 years. He was a member of the Loretto American Legion and the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Loretto, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 until 8 PM Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Friday. Military rites in charge of Loretto American Legion and other Local Military Organizations.
