Paul J. “Mick” Weakland, 90, of Ebensburg, formerly of Chest Springs, died December 5, 2022 at home. Born December 9, 1931 in Chest Springs, son of the late John L. and Mary Ellen (Maloney) Weakland. Preceded in death by wife, the former Mary Grace Wilt on December 12, 2021, an infant son, infant grandson, Mark Weakland, and these brothers and sisters; Paul Alfred, Bernard, Marie Eckenrode, Mary Eckenrode, James, Gertrude Ivory, John and Theresa Sumner. Survived by children; David (Marlene Sutara), Donald (Deborah Biter), Janice (Joe) Kuncelman, and Patricia (Doty) McDowell, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Mick was the last of his immediate family. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska during the Korean War. He had worked for Agway in Ebensburg for 27 years and retired 1n 1992. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and camping. He was a 3rd degree member of K of C, also a member of Ashville VFW, Loretto American Legion, and St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs. Friends will be received from 1:00 PM until time of funeral Mass at 2:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2022 at St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs. Committal, St. Monica Cemetery. Military Rites in charge of Ashville VFW, Loretto American Legion and other Local Military Organizations.
