Nancy E. Hamilton, 85, of Oil City, formerly of Coalport, went home with the Lord on September 8, 2024. She was born November 3, 1938, in Coalport, daughter of the late August and Bertha (Brink) Traveny. Nancy graduated high school in Coalport. She attended the University of Guam and received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1975. She worked as a registered nurse in hospitals and nursing homes throughout Pennsylvania and Texas. She is survived by two sons, Steven E. Hamilton and Dale “Al” Hamilton, sisters: Beverly Peacock, Betty Lou Morrow, and Pamela Repsher, brothers: Clifford, Dennis, and Gordon Traveny, sister in law, Carol Traveny, 5 grandchildren: Joshua Hamilton, Jared (Amanda) Hamilton, Heather Hamilton, William Paul Hamilton and Walker "Andy" Hamilton, and great granddaughter, Emma Hamilton. She was preceded in death by brothers: Lynn Traveny, Harry Eugene Traveny, and Roger Traveny, and a sister, Beatrice D. Jahnsen. She married the love of her life, William J. Hamilton on October 13, 1956. He passed away on November 2, 1984. She was also preceded in death her her son, Kevin W. Hamilton in 2000. Nancy spent most of her younger years as the wife of career Air Force Master Sergeant, William Hamilton and moved from base to base in the continental United States to the island of Guam. She was a member of the Coalport VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Beaver Valley United Christian Church where friends will be received Wednesday from 11AM until time of funeral service at noon, Rev. Dean Dietrick, officiating. A Nurse Honor Guard Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday. Interment, Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.
