Michael “Stush” Racz, 80, of Amsbry, died February 6, 2024, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born September 5, 1943, in Amsbry, son of the late Joseph and Esther (Orosz) Racz. Preceded in death by brothers: Joseph, Francis, John, Andrew, and David, and sister Mary DeRose. Survived by wife, the former Frances Puglise, whom he married October 5, 1998 in Portage, children: Joseph (Lynn), Amy Racz (Chuck), Paula Yingling, Mary Smithbower (Jerry), and Carmen Puglise (Arlene), 13 grandchildren, Amanda Jastrab (Nick), Michael Racz (Christina), Adam Riddle (Alana), Emma Racz (Zach), Nathan Callahan, Grace Callahan, Hope Callahan, Chelsea Yingling, Lee Yingling (Sam), Kristian Weimer (Garrett), Maggie Smithbower (Austin), Allen Puglise and Caitlen Puglise, 12 great grandchildren, sister, Helen Golden, sisters-in-law, Geraldine, Patricia, and Joyce Racz, and numerous nieces and nephews. Stush enjoyed going to the casinos and gardening. He was a proud member of the carpenter’s union, Local 1419, Johnstown for 55 years and retired in 1997. He was also a member of the Gallitzin Moose and Ashville Volunteer Fire Company. A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family.
