Maureen J. Mazenko Obituary

Maureen J. Mazenko, 61, of Altoona, formerly of Coalport, died February 14, 2024, at her home in Altoona. She was born February 21, 1962, in Levittown, daughter of the late William and Marion (Scott) Mazenko. Survived by son, Joshua Leyo, and these brothers and sisters: Mary (Roger) Williams, Nancy (James) Lee, Larry (Carol) Stopa, Linda Stopa, Donna (Scott) Carmichael, and Joseph (Kay) Mazenko. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Maureen enjoyed attending family functions, singing in the church choir, talking on the phone, crafts at the senior center, QVC, and she was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan, especially Andrew McCutcheon. Maureen was a caregiver for her mother for many years. She was active with the Coalport Cancer Coalition, and a former member of St. Basil Catholic Church, Coalport, where a funeral Mass and celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2024, Rev. Zab Amar, Celebrant. Committal, St. Basil Cemetery, Coalport. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Gibbons Funeral Home for expenses.
