Mary “Grace” McCloskey, 78, of Ashville, died November 30, 2023, at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. Born September 3, 1945, in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Dale) Gargon. Preceded in death by great grandson, Holden, brother, Joseph “Sonny” Gargon Jr., and sisters: Gloria Ball and Kathleen “Teetsa” Charlton. Survived by husband of 59 years, Richard J. McCloskey Sr. whom she married April 18, 1964, in Gallitzin, children, Richard J. (Edie) McCloskey Jr. of Gallitzin, and Darlene (Frank) Lynch Sr. of Mechanicsburg, 6 grandchildren: Franklin Lynch Jr., Chandria Lynch, Richard lll “Little Ricky” (Dana) McCloskey, Chandler (Joanna) McCloskey, Kaczey McCloskey, and Lucas, 11 great grandchildren, brother, John Gargon of Bridgeton, NJ and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Grace enjoyed sewing and volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul Society in Cresson. She had worked at the sewing factory in Gallitzin, and then retired as a nurses’ aid from Laurel Crest Manor, Ebensburg in 2007 after many years of service.
