Mary O. Chverchko, 82, Ashville, died May 13, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born May 21, 1940, in Ashville, daughter of the late Charles Ernest Sr. and Mary Olive (Miller) Hollen. Preceded in death by husband, David on May 12, 2023, infant brother, Robert, sisters; Agnes Wyland, Rita Adams, Ella Dietrick, Mildred Boldizar, Grace Miller, and Ethel Audie, and brothers, Joseph and Charles Jr. Survived by children: Mary Anne (Dean) Helsel, Ruth Toohey (Barry), John (Elizabeth) Chverchko, Warren (Maria) Chverchko, Daniel (Catherine) Chverchko, Doris (Rick) Marczak, Lucy Chverchko, Diane (Richie) Johnson, David C. (Jennifer) Chverchko, Jennifer (Darren) Smouse, Sharon Chverchko (Barb), Sandra Chverchko, and Matthew Chverchko, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters: Viola Mazur, and Sister Ruth RSM, sisters in law: Elizabeth Hollen and Diane Hollen, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary worked as a clerk for St. Francis Missionary Store in Loretto for 20 years. She enjoyed singing, fixing, and repairing statues, sewing, making quilts, and going to Fatima Devotions in Loretto. She was a member of the Senior Citizens, Chest Springs, Legion of Mary, Loretto, Ashville VFW Auxiliary, where was the current president, the choir, Altar Rosary Society of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Monica Cemetery, Chest Springs. Friends will be received from 2 until 8 PM Wednesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Wednesday.
