Mary Alice “Peany” Bennett, 86, of Glasgow, died in peace on January 24, 2025. She was born March 16, 1938, in Burnside, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Elizabeth (Sutton) Yingling. Preceded in death by husband, Robert A. Bennett Sr. who passed away May 7, 2005, her sisters and brother: Betty Kruise, Shirley Young, and Robert Yingling, granddaughter, Melissa Bonsell, step-granddaughter, Stacy Grubb Johnston, and great granddaughter Faith Lee. She is survived by her children: Robert and Gloria (McGarvey) Bennett Jr., Debra (Bennett) and (Ronald) Grubb, and Tina Bennett, 7 grandchildren: Jennifer, Jason, Kevin, Daniel, Eric, Andrew (Lindsey), and Tiffany, with 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and brothers and sister: Paul “Pete” and Catherine Yingling, William and Margaret Yingling, and Janet (Yingling) and William Heverly. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Peany enjoyed spending time with her family, word puzzles, and cooking. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. A memorial service for friends and family will be held on February 8th at the Tipton Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Peany’s memory.
