Margaret (Rydbom) Wallace, 96, Lyleville, died March 2, 2022 at UPMC Altoona. Born September 4, 1925 in Rosebud, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Miles) Gill. She was preceded in death by the people that raised her Martin and Ann (Heil) Spangle, her first husband, Robert Rydbom in 1976, daughter in law Annamarie Rydbom, son in law Ronald Gondek, and these brothers and sister; Elwood, Betty Cunningham, Russell and William. Survived by husband of 37 years, Charles Wallace, whom she married September 1, 1984 in Coalport, children; Rick (Sharon Lucas), Marty, and Gayle Gondek, 4 grandchildren; Julie (Shane) Heckman, Adam (Joni) Rydbom, Sarah (Todd) Shomo, and Kayla (Mike) Srock, 7 great grandchildren and sister, Jean Trusz. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, her church life was very important to her, she also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and kayaking. She was one of the first telephone operators in Coalport, she also worked as a teachers’ aide at Glendale High School in the early 1970’s, and then worked at Leyo’s IGA from 1970 until 1988. She volunteered as a Candy Striper at Altoona Hospital for a number of years. Member of the Coalport C & MA Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years and had served as the Head Deaconess for many years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday and from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Coalport C & MA Church, Rev. Isaac Stuart officiating.
