Leonard J. Krug, 82, of Ashville, died July 15, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 7, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Paul and Marie (Farabaugh) Krug. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Dolores Grove on March 15, 2023, son, Paul, grandson, Ryan, great grandson Matthew Insley, and son-in-law John Puddister. Survived by children: Pamela Puddister of Lost Creek, WV, Brian (Sandy Eger) Krug of Ashville, and Rodney Krug of Ashville, 5 grandchildren: Bethany (Christopher) Insley, Jonathan (Cynthia McLean) Puddister, Jessica (Travis) Swisher, Zachary (Megan Bolvin) Krug, and Tylor (Cheyenne Beiswenger) Krug, 8 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Russell (Shirley McElheny), Dorothy Voyer, Curt (Mary Lou Mock) Krug, David Krug, Homer (Marilyn Leppert) Krug, Lou Krug, and Mary Ann (Ray) Treon. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Len was a Navy Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and hunting. He had worked at the Greenwich Colleries Coal Mine in Cherry Tree for 21 years and retired in 1993. Len was a member of the UMWA, Patton American Legion, and St. Augustine Catholic Church. At this time there will be no viewing or services, a graveside memorial service is planned for next spring at St. Augustine Cemetery, with Military Rites performed by Patton American Legion.
