Joseph E. Sherry Jr., 75, of R.D. Ashville, died February 1, 2023 at UPMC Altoona. He was born August 19, 1947 in Ashville, son of the late Joseph E. Sr. and Mabel (Kelly) Sherry. Survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Joyce Ann Link, whom he married April 30, 1966 in St. Augustine, children, Francis J. (Diana Lynn Shank) of R.D. Johnstown, Regis P. (Kristin L. Williams) of Martinsburg, and Lori A. (David) Hines of R.D. Gallitzin, 6 grandchildren; Patrick (Virginia) Sherry, Tiffany, Tyler, and Ashley Sherry, and Sherry and Sarah Hines. Joe loved spending time with his grandchildren, they could make him laugh and feel better even on a bad day. He always gave a helping hand to family and friends. He enjoyed going to fairs, tractor pulls and square dancing. Joe and his wife Joyce also liked rock and roll music and they followed the ”Fabulous Flashbacks” for many years. He had worked at DeGol Lumber, Greenwich Colliery, and NAPA Warehouse, where he retired early due to health problems. Joe was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, Rev. Jerzy Auguscik OFM, celebrant. Committal, St. Monica Cemetery.
