Joseph Blaise “Cuz” Lidwell, 72, of Ashville, formerly of California, died June 22, 2022 at his mother’s home in Ashville. Born January 4, 1950 in Altoona, son of Robert “Wimp” and Mary (Suckinos) Lidwell. Preceded in death by his father. Survived by mother, and these brothers and sisters; Mark (Frances Campilongo) of South San Francisco, CA, Amy (Mark) Lego of Gallitzin, Carrie (Eric) Hendrixson of Ashland, VA, and Patrick of Ashville. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cuz was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served on the Coral Sea. He enjoyed nature, and was a self employed entrepreneur. Cuz was known as a Chain Ape, he made his livelihood placing chains on trucks in the winter to navigate over Donner Pass in Northern California for over 30 years. He also authored a book, “The Axe is God”. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Thomas Cemetery.
