John R. “Jack” Rupp, of Kannapolis, NC and Coalport, PA passed away Saturday February 5, 2022. He was born August 24, 1936 in Blair County, son of the late Robert Orie and Ethel (Webster) Rupp. Survived by wife, the former Catherine Shomo, daughters; Karen A. Rupp-Urbanski of Concord, NC, Sharleen Rupp and husband Bob Rowles of Trenton, SC, Jodi Rupp of Charleston, SC, and Dayna Rupp and husband Jason Carr of Kannapolis, NC, grandchildren; Amelia and McKenna Urbanski, Cody, Elizabeth and Morgan Rowles, Joss and Jamisyn Carr, sister, Ethel “Jill” Peacock of Kannapolis, NC, and other extended family members. Jack worked as an independent owner/operator and for Ollinger Brothers Trucking as a driver and dispatcher. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Glendale Volunteer Fire Department, Coalport for over 60 years. Jack was a soccer coach and referee for AYSO soccer for many years. He was a member of the Masons 574 Coalport Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Coalport Lodge 350, Loyal Order of Moose and Elks Lodge 540, Clearfield. Friends will be received from 1 until 4 PM and 6 until 8 PM Friday, and from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA 16627, Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Masons will do a tribute Friday at 7:00 PM.
