Joan I. Litzinger, 90, Altoona, died December 29, 2020 at home. Born February 18, 1930 in Altoona, daughter of the late James B. and Nina R. (Hofmann) Fogel. Preceded in death by husband, Morgan on December 27, 2015, infant daughter, Mary, son, David “Butch”, daughter, Susan Litzinger, son in law, Dave Cherry, brothers: James, Robert, and David and sister, Barbara Wagner. Survived by children: Cheryl Cherry of Altoona, Jane (Pete) Carey of Ashville, Thomas (Mary Ellen) of State College, and Donna (Jonathan) Cole of West Jefferson, OH, daughter in law, Carole Litzinger of Altoona, 8 grandchildren: Dave (Dawn) Litzinger, Diane Litzinger, Christa (Dave) Chilcote, Alisa (John) Adams, Emily Carey, William (Amanda) Cole, Sara Litzinger (Ryan), and Julie (Andrew) Springer, 13 great grandchildren: Morgan, Preslee, Jadie, Jovie, Gideon, Silas, Evelyn, Ember, Piper, Elias, Rose, Simon, and Erica, brother, Richard (Elsie) of Huntingdon, sister, Nancy Fogel of Hollidaysburg, sisters in law: Clemence Fogel of Hollidaysburg, Nancy Fogel of Fayetteville, AR, and Janice Fogel of Ashville. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joan enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and going out to eat. She had a great sense of humor and excellent memory. Joan attended Senior Life, Altoona and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon, Saturday, Rev. Msgr. Michael Becker, Celebrant. Committal, St. Thomas Cemetery, Ashville. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont.
