Janet L. Zabrosky, 93, of Loretto, passed away July 24, 2026 at home surrounded by family. Born January 19, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Louis J. and Virginia J. (Soisson) Lieb. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 72 years of marriage, Edward J. Zabrosky Sr.; sons, Edward “Bud” and Thomas Zabrosky; and infant granddaughter, Rebecca Zabrosky. She is survived by children, James (Lee Ann) Zabrosky, Michele (David J.), Eckenrode, Robert (Janet) Zabrosky, Lisa (Charles) Golec, Michael D. (Karen) Zabrzeski, and John (Dara) Zabrosky; 24 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Anna Rae Zabrosky. Janet was a member of the Secular Franciscans and Legion of Mary at the Basilica of St. Michael. She was a part of the 1st March for Life in 1974. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, cooking, baking, especially her pies and cookies, Polish traditions, and mostly spending time with family. She was very welcoming to all. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 3 to 7 pm at Gibbons-Penksa Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St Ashville, PA 16613. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 11 am at St. Michael’s Basilica, 321 St. Mary St Loretto, PA 15940. Fr. John Byrnes, officiating and Fr. Richard Davis Co-officiant. Interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Gibbons-Penksa Funeral Home, Ashville.
