Janet F. (O'Hara) Burgoon

Janet F. Burgoon, 83, formerly of Dysart, died December 7, 2021 at Asbury Heights, Pittsburgh. Born February 18, 1938 in Cresson, daughter of the late Algernon and Faye (Ross) O’Hara. Preceded in death by husband, Robert on September 11, 2003, and daughter, Joan. Survived by children; Audrey Burgoon, Robert J. Burgoon, Theresa (Mark) Vescovi, and David (Crystal Potter) Burgoon, by grandchildren Evan Vescovi, AJ Vescovi (Abbey) and Courtney Burgoon, and two step grandchildren Ed Longo and Stella Longo.  Janet loved children and worked as a secretary at Cambria Heights Elementary School.   She enjoyed her flourishing flower gardens and was a member of the Patton Garden Club.  Janet had lifelong friendships with her high school friends and was on their Class Reunion Committee.   She was Judge of Elections for decades.  Janet taught CCD, was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and sang in the choir at St. Augustine Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, Rev. Jerzy Auguscik OFM Celebrant. Committal, St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5 until 8 PM Thursday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Thursday evening.  The family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Janet’s memory.
