Janet (Rieg) Bloom

Janet Bloom, 92, Loretto, died April 29, 2022 at Just Like Home, Cresson. Born February 10, 1930 in Chest Springs, daughter of the late Emmeran and Elvera (Kibler) Rieg. Preceded in death by husband, Francis “Bud” on January 21, 2017, daughter Sue Hollen in 1988 and her husband Ken, brothers; Paul, Don, and Robert , sisters; Leona Adams, and Mary Louise Fonzi. Survived by children; Nancy Bloom of Altoona, Patty (Jim) Fox of Loretto, Bill (Kathy Wike) of Ebensburg, and Diane (Greg) Gowen of Loretto, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, sister, Lois Burris, brothers; Jack (Elayne Kelly) Rieg, and Len (Theresa Watt) Rieg, sisters in law; Peg (Ivory) Rieg, Rose (Koons) Rieg and brother in law, Bud Adams. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, Rev. Msgr. Michael Becker, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 PM until 8 PM Wednesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Wednesday afternoon.
