James E. Hamilton Jr, 85, of Coalport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. James was born February 4, 1940, in Beaver Valley, son of the late James Edward Sr. and Dorothy (Gray) Hamilton. On October 21, 1959 James and Ethel (McMasters) wed and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children: Tina, Tammy, and James III. James started working young in his father’s sawmill, then in the Coal industry with Harold Caskey Coal Company, Barnhart Coal, and Cambria Coal. James also worked for Greensburg Construction Equipment building the Glendale Dam, Frozen Farm Incorporated, National Van Lines, Frank Donatelli and Company Incorporated and Barnes and Tucker. James went on to start several of his own businesses including Harry’s Pizza Shop, The Bargain Store, Hamilton Trucking and Auto Salvage, Hamilton Brothers Coal with his brother Robert, Hamilton Auto Sales and numerous rental properties. James enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, going to the races, and loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. James passionately loved the Lord and was a member of the Glendale Valley Spirit and Truth Church. He lived devoted to God and enjoyed sharing the gospel. James was predeceased by his parents; James and Dorothy, brother; David Hamilton, and grandsons Gabriel and Adam. James is survived by his wife, Ethel, their three children; Tina Leamer (David), Tammy Henry (Gregory), and James (fiancée Lorie), brother Robert Hamilton (Anna), sister Sharon Anderson (Charles); sister-in-law, Ann Hamilton; seven grandchildren; David Leamer Jr. (fiancée Katy), Andrew Leamer (Breann), Matthew Henry (Marissa), Kylie Robley (Nathan), Alisha Loncaric (Andrew), Jared Henry (Melanie), and Maria Brown (Dylan); and twelve great-grandchildren; Xander, Matthew Jr., Chase, Maci, Colton, Claire, Aaron, Jane, Caitlyn, John, Emmett, and Cade. Friends will be received from 4 PM until 7 PM Sunday, March 2,2025, and from 1:00 PM until time of funeral service at 2:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA, 16627,  John Gray officiating.
