Herman James Clauto, 84, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 6, 2024. He joins his beautiful daughter, Chrysa Wyland. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 64 years, Nancy, his children Marsha (Jim) McGroarty, Rob (Lori Tartarko), Jeanine (Gary) Mancuso, son-in-law Lee Wyland, grandchildren Erin (fiancé, Jon), Allie (fiancé, George), Ben (Emily) Clauto, Sara, Lea (Greg) Walker, Luke, Matt (Trista) Wyland, Marie (Zach) Coukart, Jacob Wyland (Lauren), Anna Wyland (Nate), great-grandchildren: Iyla, Weston, Wyatt, and Charlotte, his siblings Theresa (Tom) Ricche, Jim (Margie) Clauto, Mary (Al) Miller, Tony Clauto, and Joe (Martha) Clauto. Preceded in death by his parents James and Wanda Clauto and mother/father-in-law Albert and Marie McMullen. He was proud to have served in the US Marine Corp. He was active in Holy Name Church and especially enjoyed working the turkey dinners. He was a board member for Family Life Bureau and team member for Marriage Encounter. He was an REA Lineman for 38 years and he loved to share his stories. He was a man of deep faith and loved his family immensely. His children and grandchildren brought a twinkle to his eye and a big smile to his face. Herm will always be remembered for his bright smile and kind words to everyone he met. Friends will be received from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Brian Warchola. Entombment Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg.
