Gregory J. McMullen, 60, of Hastings, formerly of Cresson, passed away on March 14, 2025 at UPMC Altoona, after a brief Illness. He was born June 1, 1964 in Altoona, son of the late Damian F. and Anna R. (Lilly) McMullen. Preceded in death by brother, Philip McMullen, and sister-in-law Bethany McMullen. He is survived by sister, Judith, and brothers: Mark, Richard, Larry, Gerard, and Patrick (April), niece and nephews, Courtney Mitchell, Michael and Gabriel McMullen, and Jordan McMullen. Greg was a graduate of Penn Cambria High School and was formerly a delivery driver for FedEx. In recent years, Greg assisted with food distribution at the Hastings Food Pantry, and was formerly employed by the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind and Handicapped. Facing unexpected adversities in his life, Greg never walked away from a challenge. When he decided on a goal, he worked toward that goal and never gave up. Greg had a sweet tenderness in his personality, he so willingly volunteered to help others around him. He will be very much missed by his family and friends. A special thanks to all the staff at UPMC Altoona who assisted the family, in particular Jada, Michelle, Bridgit, the chaplain, and the 7th floor staff, who showed so much compassion and care. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until time of memorial service at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, Rev. Thaddeus Rettger OSB officiating.
