Gertrude H. Sutton, 85, Ashville, died February 3, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 3, 1935 in R.D. Loretto, daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Miller) Crossman. Preceded in death by husband, Leroy on September 17, 1994, son in law, Paul “Buddy” Kirby, brother, John, and sisters, Cecelia McDaniels, and Mary Jane Sutton. Survived by children; Michael (Robyn), Stephen (Laura), Jeffrey (Eleanor), Debbie (Russ) Ivory, Barbara (Adam) Uadiski, Gregory (Lori), Mary Kirby, and Milissa Sutton, 28 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren, brother, Walter (Barbara), sister, Teresa Failor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gertrude enjoyed painting, bird watching, gardening, and watching wildlife in her back yard. She was a member of the Ashville VFW Auxiliary, St. Thomas Altar Rosary and St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3 until 8 PM Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a vigil service will be held Friday evening.
