George A. McElheny, 73, Glasgow, died October 2, 2024, at UPMC Altoona surrounded by his family. Born June 18, 1951, in Blandburg, son of the late Art and Millie (Krug) McElheny. Preceded in death by brothers: Kenneth, Donald, and Russell, and sister-in-law, Cathy (Luther) McElheny, and brother-in-law Ben Wilkinson. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Georgetta Bouch, whom he married July 17, 1971, in Frugality, children: Ken (Kim Niebauer) and Jessica (Rick) Rickard, 3 granddaughters: Phylasady Gillam, Morgan McElheny, and Rebecca Gillam, brothers and sisters: Janet Brown, Tom, Ann (Jim) Lovell, John (Deb Stefanick), Gary, and Judy (Scott) Elvey. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. George enjoyed working with his brothers and hunting. He worked as a truck driver for Jacobs Oil Company, Dean for many years. Member of the Knights of Columbus, Frugality and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Frugality, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Friends will be received from 2 until 4 PM Sunday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA 16627, where a Vigil Service will be held Sunday afternoon.
