George R. Ivory, 74, of Ashville, died December 27, 2023, at UPMC Altoona. Born February 15, 1949, in Altoona, son of Alvin and Marjory (Storme) Ivory. Preceded in death by father, son, Patrick, and twin brother, Bernard. Survived by mother of Ashville, wife of 52 years, the former Helen Kuntzman, whom he married June 26, 1971 in Chest Springs, son, Michael (Stephanie Buck) of Ashville, grandsons: Kaiden and Logan, brothers: Paul (Trudy Bloom) and Gary (Irma Baneulos) and sisters: Marycarole (William “Luke”) Brannigan and Celine Myers (Joe Carroll). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. George enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, and his many friends, hunting, fishing, golf, and trips to Florida. He retired after 25 plus years from Local 19 Sheet Metal Union, Philadelphia. He was a member of SOI, Patton, Ashville VFW, Cresson American Legion, Galeton Moose, and St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Rev. Mariusz Gorazd, Celebrant. Committal, St. Thomas Cemetery, Ashville. Friends will be received from 4 until 8 PM Monday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Monday. www.gibbonsfhashvillecoalport.com
