Frederick “Rick” Carroll, 61, of Loretto, died October 16, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 28, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, IA, son of Robert Carroll of Georgia and Mary Beth (Sheible) Carroll of Virginia. Survived by his wife, the former Casandra (Peterson) Carroll whom he married March 3, 2004, in Coupeville, WA, children: Alexandra Carroll, Nicholas (Ashley) Carroll, Haley Carroll (Wyatt), Gary Motz, Jeremy Motz, and Alexis Motz, 8 grandchildren: Caitlyn, Nathan, Zachary, Maci, Tripp, Brynley, Olivia, and Tuff, also one to be born in June. Brother of: Debbie Ruppel, Tracy (Nazar) Arfaoui, Michael Carroll, Kerri Payne-Carroll, and Robert Carroll. Rick is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He loved being around people, and enjoyed collecting baseball cards, watching football and baseball on television, and coaching and umpiring baseball in a city league in Virginia. Rick served 22 years in the US Navy from 1981 to 2004. He also worked as an auto mechanic and fuel dispatcher. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing.
