Emanuel "Scott" Ruffing

Emanuel “Scott” Ruffing, 87, of Loretto, died June 10, 2023 at home. Born July 6, 1935 in Johnstown, son of the late John J. and Laura (Makin) Ruffing. Preceded in death by wife, the former Anna “Louise” Biter on August 20, 2006, sisters: Elsie Swain and Wanda O’Brient, and brothers Harry and Samuel. Survived by children: Christopher S. (Patricia) of Peoria, IL, Robert (Tina) of Northern Cambria, and Susan (Andrew Jr.) Sekerak of Loretto, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, brother of: John T. (Julie) of Portage, Laura (Victor) Costlow of Sankertown, and Ed of Portage, brother-in-law Gerald O’Brient of Lancaster and sister-in-law, Joanne Ruffing of Lancaster. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Scott loved and was an avid supporter of his son Robert’s band, Ruff Tymes, he also enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking. He retired in 1981 as chief of maintenance from Riverhouse Apartments in Arlington, VA. Member of Senior Life, Ebensburg, and the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM Wednesday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery.
