Edna Eckenrode, 97, of Cresson formerly of R.D. Gallitzin, died July 5, 2024, at UPMC Altoona. Born March 6, 1927, in R.D. Loretto, daughter of the late Gordon and Lucinda (Miller) Trexler. Preceded in death by husband, Harold “Howdy” on January 9, 2003, sons: Michael, Robert, James and Donald, grandson Jason Eckenrode, brothers and sisters: Agnes Radcliff, Joseph, Rosetta Hines, John and Lucy Krug. Survived by children: Edward, Richard, Linda (Tom) Lamer, Susan (John) Zentak, William, Floyd, and Martha (Rick) Link, 19 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren special daughter-in-law, Cathy Eckenrode, who was her caregiver for 6 years, daughters-in-law: Joyce Eckenrode and Cindy Eckenrode, sister, Pauline Knee, and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, Celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto.
