Dorothy Simmers, 80, of Utahville, died April 7, 2022, at home. Born August 7, 1941, in Utahville, daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Lewis) Samuels. Preceded in death by brothers; Cy, John, Lewis “Bud”, James, Edward, Donald, Robert, and William, and sisters; Peg Lender, Mary Nevling, and Winifred “Winnie” Gallaher. Survived by husband of 60 years, John, whom she married April 28, 1962 in Utahville, sons; Michael of Altoona and Brian (Ashley Lantzy) of Utahville, 5 grandchildren; Brandon (Baylee), Nathaniel, Hannah, Conrad, and Samuel, sisters; Grace Browning of Shanksville, Jane McKeehen of Altoona, and Martha Love of Jamestown, NY. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, church activities, and baking. She worked for many years in the bakery departments of local grocery stores. She was a member of the Utahville United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM Monday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA 16627, Rev. Dean Dietrick officiating.
