Donald E. Peachman

Don Peachman, 75, of Altoona, died March 15, 2023, in the Emergency Room of UPMC Altoona. He was born December 1, 1947 in Dysart, son of the late Ralph and Ruth Ann (Flaro) Peachman. Preceded in death by half-sister, Carol Ann Johnston. Survived by wife, the former Marie Stopchick Bopp, whom he married June 27, 1997, in Winchester, VA, children: Tonya Mayberry, Tracey Lawrence, Vince (Kim) Bopp, Curtis (Nicole) Bopp, Monica (Ben) Milliron, and Devin Bopp. Also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served 2 tours. He enjoyed going to Atlantic City, the casinos, his Shelby Mustang, and his dog Chloe. He went to the police academy and served as a State Policeman for several years. He worked as a police officer for Altoona Hospital and later as a supervisor at the the Altoona Drivers Center, and retired in 2008. Don was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Bavarian Aid Club, all of Altoona.
