David V. "Pop" Killen Obituary

David V. “Pop” Killen, 80, Loretto, died February 28, 2024, at UPMC Altoona. He was born August 20, 1943, in Hartford, CT. son of the late David A. and Ethel Mae (Brown) Killen. Survived by his wife of 33 years, the former Sharon (Jenkins), whom he married June 13, 1990, in Cancun Mexico, daughters: Katie Killen Bradly (Brian), Jennifer LeJeune (Cody), Joni Woodley (Brian), and Jamie Shade (Paddy), 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sisters: Patricia Kish and Sandra Reese, several nieces, nephews, and numerous dear friends. He is also survived by his 4 legged furry friends, Angel, Rosi, and Annika. Dave served in the US Army in Vietnam as a paratrooper /paramedic in the 173rd Airborne Division. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, and he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He had worked at C.J. Merlow, Mineral Pointe, for 17 years, he then worked at Air Products and Chemicals, Allentown for 9 years, and Cambria CO Gen, Ebensburg for 6 years. Dave was a member of the NRA, Cresson American Legion, and the Ashville VFW. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. Military Rites in charge of Cresson American Legion, Ashville VFW, and other Local Military Organizations.
