Charles “Stricky” Strittmatter Jr., dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 28, 2023 at his home in Patton, surrounded by his loving family. Stricky was born to Joan (Gray) and the late Charles Strittmatter on June 6, 1958 in Spangler. He graduated from Cambria Heights High School in 1976 before working with his grandfather Xavier Strittmatter, from whom he learned to be a master plasterer. Stricky worked the majority of his career at Penn Installations in Summerhill before retiring in 2019. Stricky and Denise (Davis-Glass) Strittmatter married in April of 2001 at St. Augustine Church. They formed a loving and Happy family consisting of their four children, Steph (George) Greiner, Paul (Kim) Strittmatter, Charles (Marcia) Glass and Katie (Mike) Francani. Through the years, Stricky cherished spending time with his family, friends, and dogs, riding his motorcycle, going to hunting and fishing camp, travelling in his camper, and working on any home-improvement project that came his way. He would give the shirt off his back to any of his friends, and over his life was a source of advice, encouragement, laughter to all of us. Over his career at Penn installations, Stricky was responsible for overseeing the construction of many local buildings like the Park Avenue Pub in Patton, and numerous projects at Penn state University. His Work was meticulous and outstanding and he was vital to the growth and success of his company. Stricky fell ill with esophageal cancer in 2006. Despite all odds he fought his way through numerous surgeries and procedures over the years to go on living a happy and fullfilled life. He finally succumbed to the complications related to his cancer this week. Stricky is survived by his mother Joan; his wife Denise; their children Steph, Catherine, Charles, and Paul; his grandchildren Jake, Ryan, Nina, Alice, Serena, and Sadie; his siblings Linda, Michelle, Deb, and Bruce. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Queen of Peace Church, Patton. A viewing will be held at Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613 on Tuesday January 31 from 3 until 8 PM His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 1st, at 11:AM.
