Celine M. (Little) Rice Obituary

Celine M. (Little) Rice 75, died peacefully Sunday morning March 23, 2025, at her home in Loretto, PA surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 18, 1949, in Loretto, daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Doyle) Little. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Kenny Grove, brothers and sister: Robert, Patrick, Eleine Sheehan, James, and Fred. Survived by husband of 60 years, William T. Rice, her daughter Gina M. Grove (Gerald McElheny), 2 granddaughters; Carly C. (Vincent) Lessard, and Jenna M. Grove, 2 great grandchildren, Valerie and Joseph Lessard, brothers: William (Susan), Ronald, and Donald (Barb). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Celine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother “G” and friend. She was a strong willed, opinionated woman that had a warm and welcoming heart and her and her husband’s home was always filled with friends and family who enjoyed her famous breakfast food and companionship. She was a “fashionista” and would never miss a shopping trip and believed there was no such things as owning to many shoes. She was a mother figure to many and a friend to all and she will be dearly missed. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, Celebrant. Interment, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto.
